Why families across Kent love our pottery painting sessions
One of the things we love most about our studio is seeing families switch off from the busy pace of everyday life. Phones are put away, conversations start flowing and children get completely absorbed in creating something that is entirely their own.
When you arrive, you'll have around 15 minutes to browse our shelves, choosing the pottery piece you'd like to paint before picking out your colours. Then you'll have the rest of your 1 hour and 45 minute session to relax and paint at your own pace. There's no pressure, no experience needed and definitely no right or wrong way to decorate your pottery.
A family visit we'll always remember
Recently, we welcomed a lovely mum and her three boys into the studio. As soon as they arrived, the boys excitedly explored the shelves, each determined to find the perfect pottery blank before choosing their paint colours and settling down at the table.
Before long, the studio was filled with laughter. The boys chatted away, compared designs, teased each other about their artistic skills and somehow managed to get almost as much paint on themselves as on their pottery.
Mum joined in too, painting a beautiful decoration for her home. Before they left, she smiled and said something that has stayed with us ever since. She told us she'd found herself sitting back for a few minutes, simply watching her three boys talking, joking and laughing and getting on so well together. In the middle of everyday family life, she realised how rarely these calm moments happen. Seeing them so focussed on what they were doing made her feel incredibly grateful.
The boys couldn't wait to come back and collect their finished pottery after it had been glazed and fired, proudly telling everyone which piece belonged to them.
We absolutely love moments like that. Watching families leave happier and calmer than when they arrived is one of the best parts of what we do. It's also why pottery painting has become one of the favourite indoor activities for families right across Kent.
An indoor activity perfect for every age
One of the best things about pottery painting is that everyone can join in. We regularly welcome babies creating precious hand and footprint keepsakes, toddlers discovering paint for the first time, school-aged children bursting with imagination, teenagers, parents and grandparents.
Whether you're celebrating a birthday, filling a rainy Saturday afternoon or looking for something to do during the school holidays, there's something for everyone.
Keeping family days out affordable
We like to keep things simple with our pricing:
£5 per painter · £2 for anyone not painting
Plus the cost of the pottery piece you choose. With plenty of different items available, there's something to suit every budget.
Easy to find, wherever you're travelling from

We're within easy reach of Gillingham, Chatham, Rochester, Sittingbourne, Maidstone and the rest of Kent, so whether you're local or making more of a day of it, we're simple to get to.
Many families make a day of it by grabbing lunch or visiting the local shops before or after their session, making pottery painting the perfect addition to a family day out.
Ready for some summer holiday fun?
Pottery painting isn't just about decorating a mug, plate or ornament. Years from now, those pieces won't simply remind you of what you painted, but of the laughter around the table, the paint-covered hands, the conversations you had and the afternoon you all spent enjoying each other's company.
